FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Before the start of today's Free Choice, we introduced some new activities....
Remy works on a shape puzzle.
At the Alphabet Station, Margo and Claire practice spelling classmates' names.
We added dress-up clothes to the Dramatic Play Station.
In the Construction Zone, we added twig blocks. These were a HUGE hit!
Avery and Scarlett work together to complete an alphabet puzzle.
Playing Snail's Pace Race at Games Galore.
At the Writing Station, children can use wooden pieces to form upper case letters. These will be used when we begin our handwriting lessons.
Graham practices his counting skills by adding beads to match the number on the pipe cleaner.
Lianna uses lower case letter magnets to spell the words in a book.
Margo looks at a reptile book at the Discovery Station.
Today we discussed the importance of rules and how they can help us stay safe. We read the book, What If Everybody Did That?. The children enjoyed finding the rules that were being broken on each page and why the rule was important. Tomorrow, we will continue to discuss rules that will be important for us to have in our classroom so that we can learn and grow this year.
Today we discussed what a family is and read, The Family Book. We will continue to do activities to help us share about our own families. Remember to have your child bring in a 3x5 family photo by this Friday.
