COLORS~
Today we read a story about favorite colors and then made our own color graph.  Using the photo below of our color graph, ask your child which color has the most, which color has the least and if any colors were equal.

We read another color story today that the children can retell in the Book Nook using props.

HANDWRITING~
Today we learned a poem about writing the number 3 and used the poem to practice writing the number 3.
 EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a cooking day and we made lollipops!  First, we read the story, Too Many Lollipops.  Be sure to ask your child what happened to the main character, Henry the duck, and what Henry's doctor advised him to do.  Following the story, the children chose 3 Jolly Rancher candies for making their lollipop.  We put the candies in the oven and they melted together.  When the lollipops came out of the oven, we pressed a stick in the lollipop and let then cool and harden.  The children were impressed with the transformation!
