WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 9-17-15

ASK ME ABOUT...
...what I did in Spanish.
...what I did in Music/Drama
...learning about the American flag.
...how many stars are on the American flag.
...how many stripes are on the American flag.
...what we do when we say the pledge of allegiance.
...the new seat our teachers introduced.
MORNING MESSAGE~
In today's Morning Message, we counted 9 words in the last sentence.  Also, we discussed how words are letters put together.  There was another difference in today's Morning Message.  Instead of "Hugs", it was signed "Love".
 SILLY SALLY~
The children are spending time rereading/retelling the story of Silly Sally.  They can use the big book to retell the story or a small book with flannel board pieces.

Bella models how to use our new "chairs" called a "Bilibo" seat.
 EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today Mr. Cross did a Second Step lesson.  With the children, he discussed different emotions and when we might feel those emotions.  A letter will come home in your child's folder tomorrow from Mr. Cross explaining the lessons he will be doing with the children.
Mr. Cross used the characters from the movie "Inside Out" to help with this lesson.
 BUG IN A RUG~
Bug In A Rug has become a popular activity in Pre-K "A"!  To do this activity, one child is chosen to be the "scientist" and moves away from the group so he/she can't see anyone.  While hiding, the teacher chooses 1 student (bug) to go under the blanket (rug).  The scientist is invited back to the group and has to determine who is the bug in the rug.  This is a great thinking activity!
