TERRIFIC TUESDAY 4-21-15

ASK ME ABOUT...
...the Dramatic Play Station being a Butterfly Garden.
...the new "have-to" activities at the Work Stations.
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...where we had Music class today.
...what book Mrs. Arner read to us at the library.
...what book I checked out from the library.
NEW WORK STATIONS~
Today we introduced and started new Work Stations!

At the Alphabet Station, children will do the "Y" page  for their alphabet memory book.

At the Word Work Station, children choose words from the word wall and then rainbow write them.
At Math Magic, children create a caterpillar pattern.
At the Fine Motor Station, children exercise their visual discrimination skills by matching the butterflies.
At the Creation Station, children use the section of an egg carton and paint it like a caterpillar.

At Games Galore, children can choose from a variety of games to play.  Gabriel and Spencer have chosen "Blast Off".
At the Lily Pad, children sort pictures according to how many claps (syllables) are in the word.
 Egg has 1 clap (syllable).
 Sandwich has 2 claps (syllables).
 Butterfly has 3 claps (syllables).
Another language activity children will do at the Lily Pad is identifying beginning, middle, or ending sounds of words.
Using the picture of a hat, a child needs to identify which vowel sound is in the middle of the word.

At the Discovery Station, partners work to put together a puzzle of the life cycle of a butterfly.

We have transformed our Dramatic Play Station into a Butterfly Garden!  While in the Butterfly Garden, children can use binoculars, nets and bug catchers.  They can also record/draw the observations they make while in the Butterfly Garden.

EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today during Extended Day, we played Pattern Block Sudoku.
