WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 10-1-14

ASK ME ABOUT...

...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what I did in P.E.
...what I did in Spanish.
...drawing my self-portrait.
....the story, Pete the Cat Meets the New Guy
CALENDAR~
Today was the start of the month of October!  Looking at the new calendar, we discussed Yom Kippur, Columbus Day and, of course, Halloween!  One child observed that October had more days than September.  The children are eager to find out what our pattern will be this month when putting up the dates.
SELF-PORTRAIT~
Children drew a self-portrait today.  We will ask the children to do this task again at the end of the school year.  You will be amazed at the growth that you will observe in the 2 self-portraits!
 FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Luke and Lianna work together to put together the numbers on the cubes from 1 to 50!
Margo and Avery create patterns at Math Magic.

Scarlett recreates Mat Man using the wooden pieces.

Avery and Margo work together to put the cubes with numbers in order from 1 to 50.
 STORY~
We read our second "Pete the Cat" story today.  In this story, Pete meets a new friend that moves into the neighborhood.  Be sure to ask your child what animal became Pete's new friend and how Pete made his new friend feel better.

EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a Technology Day.  We used the SMARTBoard and learned/did some new games on abcya.com.  This is a great website for children to work on math and language skills!
