HANDWRITING~
Today children learned and practiced writing the letter "U".

ALPHABET MEMORY BOOK~
Throughout the school year, the children will be working on an Alphabet Memory Book.  There will be a page representing each letter of the alphabet.  For the "D" page, children chose which 2 objects to draw that begin with the /D/ sound.
FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Scarlett spells words at the Alphabet Station.

Elliott builds with Legos in the Construction Zone.
Mitch, Lianna and Spencer exercise their fine motor skills at the Fine Motor Station.
Margo experiments with color mixing at the Discovery Station.

Anna builds a design with the pattern blocks.
George practices his one-to-one correspondence at Math Magic with the 100 Apples activity.
To complete the activity, a child chooses a card and colors in the corresponding number of apples on his/her tree.  He/she continues choosing the number cards until all of the apples on the tree have been colored red.

Today we added a paper box to the Creation Station with various colors of paper.  Children can use the paper for their own creations.
There is also a scrap paper basket filled with various sizes, shapes and colors of paper for children's use also.
Below are some of the creations children made today!

STAR OF THE WEEK~
Luke is our new "Star of the Week"!  Luke shared some of his favorite things including:  Nationwide Arena (favorite place to visit); hockey (favorite activity); and chocolate and vanilla ice cream (favorite dessert).  Luke also shared his hockey stick with the class as well as many photos.  Thank you for helping us get to know you better, Luke!

THE LITTLE OLD LADY WHO WASN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING~
Yesterday we read this book in class and today we acted it out.  Each child had a part to play.  Be sure to ask your child which part he/she did.

EXTENDED DAY~
Today was cooking time during Extended Day.  We started by cutting open a pumpkin, cleaned out the insides and pulled out the seeds.  We then cleaned off the seeds and roasted them in the oven for snack.  Be sure to ask your child if he/she tried them!
