PRE-K PAJAMA DAY!

ASK ME ABOUT...
...how many pancakes I ate!
...the pajamas and slippers my classmates wore today.
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what I did in Spanish.
...our new Star of the Week, Morgan!
...the rocket experiment we did.

PANCAKES AND PAJAMAS!~
We had a lot of fun eating pancakes in our pajamas at school today!  Thank you so much to all of the parents who prepared, cooked and served pancakes!

 STAR OF THE WEEK~
Our new "Star of the Week" is Morgan!  Today we learned that Morgan's favorite things include mint chocolate chip ice cream (favorite dessert), rainbow and pink (favorite colors), and penguins and polar bears (favorite animal).  Thanks for helping us get to know you better, Morgan!

 OUTER SPACE~
After reading a book about rockets, space shuttles, etc., we conducted a "rocket experiment" of our own!  We used a drinking straw to represent a rocket and a blown-up balloon to represent the gas/fuel to lift the rocket from the floor to the ceiling.  (There was a piece of yarn running through the straw from the floor to the ceiling.)  After blowing up the balloon, it was taped to the straw.  We did a countdown and released the balloon.   As the oxygen/air left the balloon, the straw took off to the ceiling.  We had great discussion about how the air from the balloon "thrusted" the straw to the ceiling.  We also discussed how a real rocketship is thrust into Outer Space using fuel.  This experiment was a HUGE hit!
