...what I did in Music.
...what the Dramatic Play Station is now.
...the new password.
...how many days we've been in school.
...what we made to celebrate Zero the Hero Day!
...what I learned about the Sun.
MORNING MESSAGE~
Today's question on the Morning Message was to count the number of dots in the 2 ten-frames.  We pointed out to the students that if a ten-frame is filled, it automatically tells you that there are 10 without having to count each object in the ten-frame.

 FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Here are new some of the new activities we introduced today for Free Choice time...

~an Outer Space word search at the Alphabet Station~
~Identifying beginning letter/sound of Outer Space terms at the Alphabet Station~
~Matching the word to the picture at the Alphabet Station~
~Moon rocks, aliens, and stars in the counting basket at Math Magic~

~Space maze at the Fine Motor Station~
 ~Dot-to-Dot counting by 10's at Math Magic~
 ~Color-by-number at the Creation Station~
~Cutting out pictures and placing them in the correct places to make an astronaut at the Creation Station~
~Rhyming activity at the Alphabet Station~
~Space jigsaw puzzle at the Discovery Station~
The Pre-K Space Station is now open!
Astronauts can document/log what they are observing while in the Pre-K Space Station.
At the Writing Station, children can choose and trace a letter of their choice.

Next,  children draw 3 pictures of items beginning with that sound and label them using their inventive spelling.  In the picture below, the child traced the letter "V" and drew a picture of a "vao" (violin), a "vik" (viking), and a "volao" (volcano).
Jean-Luc and Brett lying in the middle of their creation they made using the "straws and connectors" in the Construction Zone.

 OUTER SPACE~
Today we read a story about the sun and learned that the sun is a star and that it is not the biggest star in the sky.  Be sure to ask your child what size star the sun is and why the sun looks to big to us here on Earth.

ZERO THE HERO~
Today was our 110th day of school!  Griffin and his parents provided us with an activity to help us get ready for Spring--making a wreath with flowers.  Thank you for helping us celebrate!
