THRILLING THURSDAY 2-4-16

ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...the story, The Moon.
...how many days it takes to travel from the Earth to the Moon.
...the snowman pattern activity we did.
...the estimation activity we did.

~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Samantha exercises her fine motor skills moving candy hearts with tweezers.

Alex arranges numbers in order by 10's.

We had more building with cups today in the Construction Zone.
Kevin and Nathan practice writing words from our word wall on the dry erase board.

~OUTER SPACE~
Today we read a story about the Moon and learned how many days it takes to travel to the Moon from the Earth; what it's like to walk on the Moon; and what the weather is like on the Moon.
 ~MATH GROUPS~
We did an estimation activity today and learned that estimating is making a good guess.  Children were asked to estimate how many candy hearts would fit in the heart on their paper.  Next, they filled the heart with candy hearts; counted and recorded how many they used; and compared their guess to the actual number.

We did a pattern activity today and learned how to name a pattern as "AB", "ABC", "ABBC", etc.

 ~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today's special class was Art with Mr. Cicetti!
