THRILLING THURSDAY 2-18-16

ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...whose birthday we celebrated.
...the new Star of the Week!
...how many days we've been in school.
...what we did to celebrate Zero the Hero Day!
...the new activities at Free Choice time.

 ~HAPPY BIRTHDAY!~
Today we helped Alex celebrate his February birthday.  Alex's mom read the story, 100 Days of School.  Then, we ate dinosaur cookies for Alex's birthday treat.  Happy Birthday, Alex!
 ~ZERO THE HERO~
Today we celebrated our 110th day of school!  Lyndon and his mom helped us celebrate by making "ice cream sundaes" with sprinkles in the shape of a 0.  Thank you for a fun activity!

 ~WEATHER GRAPH~
Ask your children the following questions about the weather graph....
 ~Which one has the most?
~Which one has the least?
~Is anything equal?

~FREE CHOICE~
Children can practice putting together sentences, with or without a model.

A Space maze is available at the Fine Motor Station.

At the Discovery Station, children can sort Space objects.

At the Creation Station, children can put together an astronaut puzzle.

Below are photos of astronauts who worked/played in our Pre-K Space Station.

At Math Magic, children can use Space objects to create patterns.

Chi-Chi uses various shapes to create a picture.

At Math Magic, children use pattern blocks to fill in the rocket.
 ~STAR OF THE WEEK~
Shand is the Star of the Week!  Today we learned that Shand's favorite things include:  hot pink (favorite color); elephant (favorite animal); and playing with her twin sister, Sally (favorite activity).  Shand shared photos with us and also a purple bear she received once during a hospital visit.  We enjoyed getting to know you better, Shand!

 ~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a Discovery Day!  We did some experiments with acceleration, using various sizes of balls, wooden boards (ramps) and wooden blocks.  Be sure to ask your child what he/she discovered!
