ASK ME ABOUT...
...the new greeting we did at Morning Meeting (the picture card greeting).
...the new month.
...what I did in my letter group.
...what I did in P.E.
...the story, Does A Kangaroo Have A Mother, Too?.
...the celebrations we learned about in the book Lights of Winter.
~DECEMBER IS HERE!~
There was excitement today as we checked out the December calendar--holidays, celebrations, birthdays, the first day of Winter, and many "no school" days.
~HOLIDAYS IN LIGHTS!~
As Winter nears and daylight is "limited", we read a story today about the various ways cultures around the world celebrate holidays using lights.
~STORYTIME~
Today we read the Eric Carle story, Does A Kangaroo Have A Mother, Too? The children caught on very quickly to the repetitive text and used it along with picture clues to help read the story.
In our next set of Work Stations, children will have the opportunity to find all of our previous passwords in this story and highlight them with highlighting tape.
EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a cooking day! To begin, we read the story, The Popcorn Dragon. Next, we made popcorn the "old fashioned" way --in a popcorn popper. The children had big eyes as they watched, listened and smelled the popcorn popping. Of course the best part was eating it!
