~TRUSTEE VISITATION DAY~
Today, the Academy Board of Trustees visited students in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools.  Jonothan Kass spent the day with us (through lunch) learning about a day in the life of Pre-K.  Thank you to Samantha who was a "hostess" for Mr. Kass.

 ~BUDDIES~
Last week, we heard the story, Dogs In Space, with our 2nd grade buddies.
Today we met with our buddies to create our own version of _____In Space book.
We will continue to meet to work on our books until they are completed.

 ~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Mr. Ang, Poppy and Tej work with the hexabits to create a butterfly.
Sally, Max, Nathan and Bella play in the Dramatic Play Station which has been transformed into a classroom/school.
Lauren made a bow tie for her dad.
Camille was creative with the butterfly and flower connectagons.
Chi-Chi, Alex and Sydney work with some challenging Geoboard cards.

~STAR OF THE WEEK~
Tej is our "Star of the Week"!  We learned that Tej's favorite things include:  Star Wars toys (favorite thing to play); a bat (favorite animal); and the beach (favorite place to visit).  Tej shared photos with us and a favorite Star Wars toy.  We enjoyed getting to know you better, Tej!

 ~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a Discovery Day and we learned more about rain (since we seem to be seeing a lot of it).  We read a story about rain and the water cycle and also watched a short video explaining it.  Next, we did a rain experiment.  Using a cup--half-filled with water--we added shaving cream to the top of the water (representing the clouds).  Next, we added blue food coloring to the shaving cream and waited for it to go through the shaving cream and "rain" into the water.  Children learned that water collects in a cloud and when the water droplets become too heavy, it rains!
