MORNING MESSAGE~
Ask your child what was different about the first part of our Morning Message.
We came up with words that rhyme with moon. One of those words was noon, so Mrs. "B" decided to explain how the word noon is a palindrome ( a word spelled the same forward and backward).
Then, we came up with some other words that are palindromes....
CALENDAR~
Since today is our last school day in the month of February. We totaled up our February weather graph. Be sure to ask your child to share with you what had the most and the least and if anything was equal on this weather graph.
HANDWRITING~
We have finished learning how to make all of the upper case letters. Today, children completed a review page. Next, we learn how to write numbers!
OUTER SPACE~
Today we completed our Sun, Moon and Earth activity. Your child is bringing this home today. He/she can teach you the song we have learned about the Earth rotating and revolving and the Moon revolving. They can also demonstrate it for you!
FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Margo and Avery work together building/creating with Legos.
Anna and Amara are excited about the finished rocket mosaic they did together.
PARTNER READING~
Today, children were paired with a partner and then read their "Book In A Bag" to the partner.
HEY, DIDDLE, DIDDLE~
Since we have been learning about the moon, we brought out the nursery rhyme about the cow jumping over the moon. We discussed what the word fiddle and sport meant in the rhyme. We also discussed ideas about why the dish an spoon ran away.
After the nursery rhyme, we read the story, Cindy Moo. Be sure to ask your child to tell you about this story!
EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a Cooking Day and we made moon cakes!
