WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 1-28-15

ASK ME ABOUT...
...how many more days until the 100th Day of School!  (Today was the 95th day.)
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...the letter sound we did today.
...ask me to show you the motion we do when saying this letter sound.
...what we glued on the letter "U".
...what I did in Spanish.
...what I did in Music.
...how today's story of The Three Little Kittens is different from the one we read last week.
FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Anna matches and puts in order upper and lower case letters.
Numbers 1 through 31 have been posted in various places around the classroom.  Children can be number detectives--finding and recording the numbers as they find them.

At the Word Work Station, children can practice spelling 3 and 4-letter words either with or without a model.

Also at the Word Work Station, children can put together 3-piece puzzles to form 3-letter words with a picture.

At Games Galore, children can practice their recognition of lower case letters when playing "Pop for Letters".

We had some busy builders today in the Construction Zone!
Avery and Graham use the blending board at the Word Work Station

 MUSIC~
Playing instruments in Music Class with Ms. Schroeder.
Playing the "groundhog game" in Music.
 STORYTIME~
Today we read another version of "Three Little Kittens".  Be sure to ask your child how the one we read today had a different ending than the one we read last week.  Children can retell  the story by acting it out with props or by using props on the flannel board.
 LETTER SOUND~
We discussed the letter sound /U/ today.  We then decorated our letter "U" with umbrellas--upside-down!

 EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Children were busy in Art Class today.  Many children chose to build a structure with marshmallows and toothpicks.

Amara creates a picture using "crazy" scissors.
KJ shows off his drawing skills!
