FRIENDLY FROG~
Kyndal was the Friendly Frog!
Today we modeled how and when we use scissors at school. Then, the children had the opportunity to demonstrate their cutting skills for us. The paper your child cut is in his/her folder. Ask your child to show you what he/she did.
FREE CHOICE~
Here is how we spent Free Choice time today...
...making name necklaces.
...exercising our fine motor skills using tongs to transfer small balls from one container to the other.
...stringing styrofoam circles in the Sensory Tub.
...decorating the letter "D" with dots!
...using spatial reasoning skills with the pattern blocks.
...listening to a story in the Listening Station.
Today we introduced our Word Wall which is in our Writing Station. This is where we add our passwords at the end of the week. The children put up their own names (with a photo) on the Word Wall. The words and names on the Word Wall are magnetic so that children can remove words they would like to spell in their writing activities.
Today we read the story, Whoever You Are by Mem Fox. The book includes beautiful illustrations and a wonderful message about how there are children are all over the world and the ways we are the same and different.
