THRILLING THURSDAY 3-6-14

ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what I did in Music.
...what letter I practiced in my handwriting book.
...the new nursery rhyme we did.
...the book, The Planets In Our Solar System.
...what Laken reported in the moon journal.

 MORNING MESSAGE~
Be sure to ask your child what vowel he/she wrote on the morning message.
 NURSERY RHYME~
Today we learned and practiced the nursery rhyme, "Hey Diddle Diddle".  We identified the rhymes we heard and the passwords we noticed in this nursery rhyme.  Children can put together the nursery rhyme on their own on the pocket chart in the Book Nook.

 HANDWRITING~
Learning how to write the upper case letter, "S", was today's handwriting lesson.
 FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
We had some busy builders today in the Construction Zone.  The 5 children pictured below built 3 different structures.  They worked together cooperatively and collaboratively.

We added a flannel board with Outer Space flannel pieces to the Dramatic Play Space Station.

Sophia completed her number line from 1 to 100!

OUTER SPACE~
Today we read another book about the planets that reinforced some of the facts we have already learned about each planet.  Next week, the children will make each planet for our Outer Space Bulletin Board.
