TERRIFIC TUESDAY 11-27-12

PRE-K COLOR DAY
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30TH
This Friday, November 30th, we will celebrate "Color Day" in Pre-K.  We will be doing various "color" activities to bring closure to our study of colors.  As part of our celebration, we would like for the children to wear ANY COLOR OF SHOES (ANY STYLE) to school on Friday.  We will be taking photos of the children in their shoes and creating a class book.  Other than their shoes, children should still wear dress code on Friday.

MARVELOUS MONDAY 11-26-12

ELMER~
Today we read the story, Elmer, twice.  First, we read the story and then we retold the story using props.  The children enjoyed participating and are looking forward to retelling the story with the props in the Book Nook during Free Choice time.  Children also have the option of creating their own patchwork Elmer in the Creation Station during Free Choice time.









 STAR OF THE WEEK--Sophia~
Today we learned more about our friend, Sophia!  Her favorite color is red; favorite restaurant is Japanese Steak House; and favorite dessert is a cupcake.  Thank you, Sophia,  for sharing your photos, your favorite things, and your special llama your mom brought you from Ecuador!

PARENT VISITATION ~

Thank you, parents, for spending part of your morning with us.  We will invite you for another visitation day in the Spring!!



FIRST THANKSGIVING STORY BRACELET~
Today we made a bracelet with beads.  Each bead represents a part of the story of the first Thanksgiving.  We sent home a copy of the story in your child's folder.  Be sure to ask your child to share the first Thanksgiving story with you using his/her bracelet. 












COLOR MIXING ACTIVITY~
Today we experimented with mixing colors to discover what would happen!  Be sure to ask your child what happens when you mix.....

MARVELOUS MONDAY 11-19-12


Today we read another story explaining the first Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow, we will create a special bead bracelet to help retell the story of the first Thanksgiving.




 ZERO THE HERO DAY!~
Today we celebrated our 60th day of school.  Madelyn, her mom and her grandmother provided us with a festive activity to help us celebrate.  We put together a turkey with 10 feathers.  On each feather, we placed 6 zero stickers.  Thank you for a fun activity!
