ASK ME ABOUT...
...how many days we've been in school.
...what we did to celebrate Zero the Hero Day!
...the Butterfly/Moth Venn diagram I did.
...the visitor Mr. Cross brought into our classroom today.
...what happened in Charlotte's Web.
...the story, Everybody Needs A Rock.
...what I did in P.E.
~ZERO THE HERO DAY!~
Today was our 160th day of Pre-K! It is also our last time to celebrate "Zero the Hero" day in Pre-K. Lucy and her mom helped us celebrate by bringing in materials for us to make our own Superhero/Zero the Hero! Thank you for a fun activity!
~ LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY~
Children reviewed what we have learned about butterflies and moths by creating their own Venn diagram. Be sure to ask your child to explain his/her diagram to you!
~SUMMER~
This week, children illustrated a page for our class book about Summer.
~SPECIAL VISITOR~
Mr. Cross found a moth outside this morning and brought it in for us to see. We could tell it was a moth and not a butterfly because its colors were dull, it had feathery antennae, and it had a thick body. It was neat to see this creature up close!
~FREE CHOICE~
We spent some time inside and some time outside for Free Choice today.
Children enjoyed playing with the water marbles in the sensory tub.
We brought out "sit-n-spins" today for Free Choice time.
We also brought out a "balance board" to use.
We read a great story today--Everybody Needs A Rock-- that explained 10 "rules" for finding a special rock that is your very own. Later this week, we will go on a "rock hunt" so each child can find a special rock of his/her very own!
~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was an Art Day with Mr. Cicetti.
