MARVELOUS MONDAY 3-7-16

~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Chi-Chi, Gisele, Shand and Bella work cooperatively to put together this Outer Space puzzle.

 ~LETTER GROUPS~
One Letter Group practiced and reviewed letter sounds by writing letters in the sand.






 Children in the Letter Group pictured below were introduced to new phonics activities they will do.

 ~OUTER SPACE~
Today we read a story about astronauts--what they wear and how they function in Outer Space.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
 Today was a Cooking Day and we made guacamole!  After reading the book, Guacamole, we examined and discussed the different ingredients we would use to make the guacamole.   Children were then assigned to 1 of 4 tasks to prepare the ingredients from the guacamole.








 Some children chopped up tomatoes.
 
 Some children squeezed the juice from a lime.
 
 
Some children tore up cilantro into small pieces.


 Some children mashed the avocados. 




FANTASTIC FRIDAY 3-4-16

ZERO THE HERO DAY~
Today was our 120th day of school!  Zero the Hero came to visit us and to sing our special song with us.  We will celebrate Zero the Hero Day next week with a special activity!


 ~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
We had some busy builders in the Construction Zone today!
 Lucy created a monster at the Creation Station.


 ~BIRTHDAY~
We helped Kevin celebrate his March birthday today!  Kevin's mom read the story, DO NOT OPEN THIS BOOK! .  We then enjoyed eating Cheryl's cookies that tasted like birthday cake.  Happy Birthday, Kevin!

WACKY WEDNESDAY

WACKY WEDNESDAY 3-2-16

 ~WACKY WEDNESDAY!~

 ~LOWER SCHOOL ASSEMBLY~
Pre-K "A" and "B" were responsible for planning and hosting this morning's Lower School Assembly.  We did many Dr. Seuss activities in honor of his birthday today!  
 Pre-K "A" sang the song, "Down By The Bay".








 We enjoyed a special reading of the Dr. Seuss story, Wacky Wednesday,  from the Cat in the Hat (aka--Mr. Kegelmayer).
 ~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Enjoying moon sand in the Sensory Tub.

 Children can color in the numbers listed below on a 100-chart and discover a special picture.

 
 A new Dr. Seuss puzzle.
 Children can create rhymes by changing the beginning sound of the word, "at".


Today children worked on I-pads.  They could do the following activities:  Kodable, Rush Hour or Tangrams.

TERRIFIC TUESDAY 3-1-16

~MORNING MESSAGE~
~CALENDAR~
Today is the first day of March!  Ask your child how many days there are in this month and what is happening during this month.  We also discussed what it means when someone says, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."

 ~DR. SEUSS ACTIVITIES~
Below is a rhyming activity children can do.  There are two versions of the activity--one that uses pictures with words and the other one that uses just words.





 Ethan, Samantha and Sydney put together a Dr. Seuss puzzle.

Nathan and Ethan put together the rhyming Dr. Seuss poem on the pocket chart.


 Our Dr. Seuss story for the day.  It was a tongue twister!!

Today was a Swimming Day and it was a Beach Day!!!
