 "LITTLE MISS MUFFET"~

MARVELOUS MONDAY 10-29-12

 OUR NEW POPCORN WORD.....

BEAR FEELS SCARED~
In the nursery rhyme we introduced last week, "Little Miss Muffet", it talks about Miss Muffet being frightened by a spider.  Today, we talked about fears and how everyone has them.  After reading the story, Bear Feels Scared, we made a web of fears where everyone named a fear that they have.  When our web of fears was finished, Mrs. "B" collected the web and threw our fears away in the trash can.

 NEW WORK STATIONS~
At Math Magic, children will roll dice, count the total number of dots and color in the corresponding number on the pumpkin.  The goal is to color in as many numbers as possible!

At the Fine Motor Station, children will cut out different sized pumpkins and then glue them in order by size.

At Games Galore, children are playing a game called, A-Bee-C.  Using dice with letters on them, children try to roll the letters to spell the word on the card.
At the Writing Station, children choose a word from the Word Wall; roll the die; and write the chosen word in the correct color on their paper.

The Sensory Tub is filled with color pellets and each classmate's name on a card.  Once a child finds a name in the pellets, he/she reads the name and then matches it to the classmate's photo.

In the Book Nook, the words to "Pizza Is Yummy!" is printed on strips in the pocket chart.  Children choose a classmate's name and a pizza topping to complete the poem.  Then, they read the poem!
At the Alphabet Station, children will complete a sound discrimination activity to review the sounds we have studied so far.

BOOK FAIR VISIT~
Today, Mr. Pierce visited our classroom to show us some of the books being sold at the Book Fair.  He read to us one of the stories, Mousetronaut.  Your children are ready to go shopping at the Book Fair!
