 THANKSGIVING~

Since Thanksgiving is next week, we discussed what it means to be thankful.  Then, the children designed their own Thanksgiving placemats with things for which they are thankful.  We will display these placemats in our classroom and will then send them home for Thanksgiving.

ZERO THE HERO DAY!~

Today we celebrated our 60th day of school!  Scarlett and her mom helped us celebrate by decorating the number 60 and using a snowflake as the zero.  Thank you for a fun activity!

  

HANDWRITING~

Children learned and practiced writing the letter "S" today.

 
 

FREE CHOICE LEARNING~

The "Jolly Pizza Place" opened today for "business"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!~

Today we helped KJ celebrate his November birthday!  KJ's mom read the book, No Turn for Tern and we then enjoyed donuts for KJ's birthday treat.  Happy Birthday, KJ!

EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~

Today was Cooking Day!  First, we read the funny story, Pete's A Pizza.  Next, the children made their own pizzas using a biscuit for the pizza crust.  They then chose what toppings they wanted...sauce, cheese, pepperoni and/or mushrooms.

FREE CHOICE LEARNING~ 

We introduced new materials and activities today for use during Free Choice time.

Amara and Remy play "Spot It" at Games Galore.

At the Fine Motor Station, children can use rubber bands on Geoboards to explore making designs and shapes.

 Amara works on completing a mosaic picture at the Creation Station.

 Avery and KJ are busy drawing at the Creation Station.

 Anna explores with mixing templates that are primary colors at the Discovery Station.

THE JOLLY PIZZA PLACE~

Our pizza place will open tomorrow in our Dramatic Play Station.  Today, children chose which job they would like to do to help us get the pizza place set up.  Be sure to ask your child what he/she did to help!

EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~ 

Children enjoyed the opportunity to play in the snow today during recess!  Boots, snow pants, gloves, mittens, etc. came in handy today!  Since we had Art this morning, we did not have it this afternoon.  Instead, we did letter sound activities on the SMARTBoard.
