At the Fine Motor Station, children will use their spatial reasoning skills to draw the other half of the rabbit.
At Math Magic, children are counting different amounts of popsicle sticks and recording their answers. They are using tally marks for the counting and the recording.
At Games Galore, children take turns rolling a die and then reading a word from the numbered column that corresponds with the die. If the word is read correctly, the child colors it in.
With teacher guidance at the Project Station, children use dominoes to complete the following problem-solving activity.
The other math activity children will complete with teacher guidance at the Project Station is using base ten blocks to represent different numbers. In the photo below, 47 is represented by 4 groups of ten and 7 singles.
In the photo below, the number 130 is represented by 1 group of a hundred and 3 groups of ten.
At the Writing Station, children are creating their own Space stories. Look for your child's story to come home in his/her folder to be shared with you!
At the Alphabet Station, children are tracing passwords in rainbow colors to reinforce sight word recognition.
In the Book Nook, children are creating and reading sentences.
We are creating a class book called, "Astronaut, Astronaut, what do you see?". At the Creation Station, children illustrate their page of the book and glue the words to the page in the correct order.
FREE CHOICE~
Lily, Sophia, and Shelby use their spatial reasoning skills to fill up the hexagon tray using only trapezoids.
HANDWRITING~
Today we practiced the correct way to write upper case Q, G, and S. Be sure to ask your child to show you!
CONSTELLATIONS~
Today we learned about constellations. Each child then had the opportunity to create his/her own constellation and name it. Our constellations are hanging on the ceiling in our Space Station.
RHYME TIME!~
We have created our own class rhyming book with photos of the children and the rhyming objects they brought in to share. Each child will have the opportunity to bring home the book to share with his/her family for one night. Happy Reading!
