As part of our study of colors, we read a non-fiction book today about rainbows. Here are some things we learned......
~Rainbows can be seen after a rainstorm when the sun comes out.
~Raindrops (or water) bends the sunlight which create the colors of the rainbow.
~Sunlight and water makes rainbows.
~Rainbows are more commonly seen early in the morning or late in the afternoon
when the sun is low in the sky.
~Red is always at the top of the rainbow.
~Violet is always at the bottom of the rainbow.
~The color indigo is a mixture of blue and violet.
We also discovered that you can use a prism to see a rainbow! The prism is like the raindrops or water--the shape of it bends the light which creates a "rainbow".
