 ICE CUBE EXPERIMENT~
This is what our ice cubes looked like when we took them out of the freezer and put them into clear, plastic cups.

We watched all morning as our ice cubes melted.

When are ice cubes were melted, we used an eyedropper to gather the water from each cup and squirted it onto a white napkin to discover what color of water the ice cubes melted into.  Here were our results......

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 11-28-12

 WRITER'S WORKSHOP~
Since the beginning of the school year, we have been spending our Writer's Workshop time "talking"--reading stories and orally sharing real events that have happened to us.  We are now moving into the second phase of Writer's Workshop which is "drawing".  Today, the children drew a picture of an event or happening in their lives.  It could be as simple as getting dressed and eating breakfast this morning or a "once in a lifetime opportunity" like going to Disney World.  We stressed to the children that their drawing should include only those details that were included in their story of something that really happened to them.  Be sure to ask your child what he/she drew today during Writer's Workshop.  The next phase will be "writing", where the children will use inventive spelling to explain their drawing (story) through labeling and/or simple phrases.

Here are some classmates sharing their drawings from Writer's Workshop....
