 STAR OF THE WEEK~
On Friday, we introduced our first "Star of the Week".  It was Mrs. Spolter.  Every child will have a turn to be the "Star of the Week".  When it is your child's turn, he/she will complete a page about his/her favorite things, choose 8-10 photos to bring in and display on the bulletin board, and choose 1 special item to show the class.  We will send home a note in your child's folder when it is his/her turn to be "Star of the Week".

 TORNADOES~
On Friday, we held a discussion about tornadoes--what they are, what they do, and what we should do if a tornado comes close to us.   We also discussed the different names for a tornado....twister, funnel cloud, and even vortex!!  Following our discussion, we watched a tornado in a bottle.

Shelby and David work on stamping and writing the letter "T" and "t' at the Writing Station.

Dominic tries to solve a tangram puzzle at the Overhead Station.
Cody puts together the alphabet puzzle at the ABC Station.
Madelyn works on the Fall sequencing pictures at the Discovery Station.
PRE-K ALPHABET MEMORY BOOK~
Throughout this school year, Pre-K children will work on a Pre-K Alphabet Memory Book which will be a collection of their work and photos of special events.  Today, we did the "T" page of the book.  Children were asked to draw a picture of a turtle and then decide on one more item to draw, beginning with the /T/ sound.  We then assisted the children in labeling their pictures, using "inventive spelling" (spelling words phonetically).  Be sure to ask your child what he/she drew.
