 COLUMBUS ACADEMY VIKINGS~

Today we learned that our school mascot is a viking.  Ms. Schroeder talked to us about vikings.  She even modeled a viking hat!  In each child's folder is a picture of a viking for him/her to color and to use to discuss with you about our school mascot!

 

 LIBRARY~

We made the "big climb" today for our first visit to the school library!  We met our librarian, Mrs. Arner, and chose a book to check out and take home!

NUMBER OF DAYS IN SCHOOL~

Each day after our Morning Meeting, we add a number to count how many days we've been in school.  The 2 photos below show you how we count and show the number of days we've been in school!

FREE CHOICE~

Today we opened up the "Construction Zone", the Dramatic Play Station, and the Snack Station during Free Choice time.  The children enjoyed exploring these new areas! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

STORY~

Today we started reading the book, All Kinds of Families!.  Be sure to ask your child to tell you about the different kinds of families in this book!

 

MUSIC~

We had our first official Music class with Ms. Gray today!

 OUTDOOR PLAY~

Today we modeled the safe way to play in the sandbox!

FIRST WEEK OF 2013/2014 SCHOOL YEAR
